Rebel Sports Information
Rebel Sports TipsWhen I can't watch my favorite baseball games because I am on the road, I look to sports magazines to give me the lowdown. Rather than watch the inane commentary on the 10 o'clock news, I read the magazines sports for recaps and analysis. Although many people buy Sports Illustrated for the swimsuit edition, The sports coverage is also outstanding. I used to think that Sports Illustrated was the end-all and be-all of sporting news magazines. I even depend on them to help make sports gambling decisions. It certainly is the most famous of sports magazines. Many fans, in fact, depend on that particular sports magazine for all of their sporting news. Back then, however, things were a lot less organized. We did not have the money to get serious about a backyard sport. They have built in basketball hoops, soccer nets, and football goals, all attached to a layer of ugly blacktop. I suppose that the term backyard sports meant something a little bit different back then than it does today. Instead, we would play catch, tag, kick the can, or one of many other similar games. Living in the suburbs, I see a lot of people with big, expensive, backyard sports centers. Rebel Sports AdviceSome people freefall down into caves and their parachutes open just as it's getting dark and you think they are doomed. If I was braver, the thing I'd do first is skydiving. Rock climbing also looks exhilarating, although I wouldn't want to climb those mountain peaks like K2. That must be an incredible feeling, up so high and free as a bird. I'm also far too claustrophobic for pot holing and the thought of cave diving fills me with dread. Mountain climbing in Force 10 winds and frostbite eating at your toes doesn't really appeal. It was a farming community, and there were so many places to explore that a lot of people did not bother joining the sports teams. Activities like fishing, hiking, and of course swimming, were much more popular than football. Most of us never really did anything more organized than backyard sports. Don't get me wrong – we did have that small town football fanaticism, but it was by no means universal. When I was growing up, most of the kids in the neighborhood were not that into sports.
